Company
Policy Statement
The ESG (Environment, Society, Governance) policy of a company covers the activities put in place to ensure good performance in terms of Environmental, Societal and Governmental standards. Currently, we’re working to obtain the prestigious “B Corp” Status that ensures the company alignment to a comprehensive ESG strategy.
ENVIRONMENTAL - Being sustainable is a lifestyle: we want to be a part of the change, that is why we’ve made a commitment to environmental sustainability, the ESG pillar to which we’ve dedicated the strongest efforts. At the company level, we follow a “Zero Waste” approach that starts from the sourcing phase, down to the production processes and to the shipping stage. Refer to the “Products” section for more information on the specific Actions implemented. To certify and make real our commitment, we have obtained the ISO 14001 certification about the sustainability of our operations, processes and supply chain. We’ve also carried a Life Cycle Analysis of Shelfy to measure and track its total environmental impact.
SOCIAL - We take into account the social impact of our products, and strive to offer products that have a positive effect on human health and the environment that people live and work in. This is one of the reasons why the company has specialized in the field of Air Purification, and with our Food Preservation line, has expanded the positive effects of such technology to tackle the gigantic issue of Food Waste. In terms of impact on our local society, we organize team building activities that mix interaction between our staff members and a positive impact on the places we visit.
GOVERNANCE - We offer to all our employees flexible working conditions, including remote working (even fully remote for some colleagues living in places that don’t allow them to commute to the office) and goal-oriented and performance-based assessment, instead of requiring constant physical presence in the office and use it as a performance indicator. We regularly set up individual reviews with each employee, so that everyone can express their specific point of view in a protected environment, and we strive to keep all team members fully aligned on the company’s goals and objectives, which are devised and discussed across all levels of the company. Additionally, we organize regular company meetings to allow all staff members (both on-site and remote ones) to meet and get to know each other better. Finally, we have set up a Code of Conduct for our Supply Chain Partners, in order to ensure their compliance to social and environmental good practices.

Production / Manufacturing / Shipping
Glue-less assembly
During the assembly phase, we don’t use glues because we design our products to be assembled by interlocking joints. This reduces the carbon intensity of the production and the emissions to which workers are exposed. Additionally the interlocking assembly means that the products are more easily repairable during their lifetime and correctly disposable at the end of it, by sorting out the various components. Finally, we aim to produce as little waste as possible during the production process in general.
Packaging
Our products are green from the production, where we avoid chemicals, to the packaging too!
We only use paper and avoid extra plastic in our boxes, limiting its use to the minimum amount needed.
Shipping
Depending on the sales channel used, there are cases where we have to ship our products worldwide to the individual customers using courier services. We want to minimize the emissions from the shipment of our products and we joined the Up2You projects to offsett the CO2 emitted in our ecommerce orders.
On the wholesale level, we strive to accurately forecast our future product needs to produce ahead of time and have the time needed for bulk shipping by sea or rail whenever possible, to minimize the impact of the shipping stage
