Intended use

• SHELF LIFE IMPROVEMENT & CONSEQUENT REDUCTION OF FOOD WASTE: thanks to its air purification action inside the refrigerator, Shelfy helps to significantly improve the shelf life of Fruits and Vegetables, helping users not only to reduce waste, but also to save money;

• A MORE HYGIENIC REFRIGERATOR: thanks to its air purification action inside the refrigerator, Shelfy helps to significantly reduce the concentration of bacteria, viruses and odors in the refrigerator’s air. This promotes a safer and cleaner environment for all kinds of food stored in the refrigerator, preserving their quality and freshness better;

• SUSTAINABLE BY DESIGN: Shelfy is assembled without using glues (reducing emissions during production and allowing repairs and a correct disposal at the end of the device life), the battery is individually replaceable and its photocatalytic filter is washable. Additionally, the effect of Shelf Life improvement helps in the reduction of Food Waste.

• REFRIGERATOR COMPARTMENT ONLY: Shelfy is not meant to be used in the freezer compartment: in that situation, food spoilage is prevented by the subzero temperatures, and Shelfy’s air purification action would not be necessary. Additionally, Shelfy’s electronics are not designed to be used at subzero temperatures.

Refrigerator Size

It is recommended to use 1 Shelfy per standard size refrigerators with internal volume of the refrigeration compartment only between 200 and 300 liters (7 to 10.6 CF). For larger-capacity refrigerators (above 350 liters or 12.4 CF of the refrigeration compartment only) we recommend the use of 2 devices to achieve a better and faster odor elimination effect.

Battery duration

• General claim: “Shelfy’s battery lasts up to 3 weeks in “Eco” mode”

Average values obtained through the analysis of real-life usage of over 7.500 devices connected to the “Vitesy Hub” App:

• “Eco” mode = 3 weeks

• “Crisper” mode = 3 weeks, a little less than “Eco”

• “Performance” mode = 5 days

Battery recharging protocol and time

Shelfy’s battery has a high capacity (10.400 mAh, that is, double the one of a mobile phone or laptop) and In order to get the best changing time, it is important to charge using the USB-A to USB-C cable included in the package, and use a charger of at least 15 W,  power (output 5V = 3A). Under this scenario, the battery charging time from 0% will take approximately 7 hours.
